Snowy Ride above Hawes

A quick ride in the recent snow. I took a quick ride in the sun up above Hawes on the Cam High Road, with my Fat Bike. I was going to ride around the front of Yorburgh and descend into Burtersett, but the snow was just too deep and powdery. So I just descended back along the Cam High Road, which in inself was great fun.

Just a quickly edited video of a shortened ride up the Roman Road above Burtersett near Hawes, after this weekends snow.



Didn`t get too far up the Bridleway as it was starting to turn icy and had a nice steady descent get covered in icy snow melt! nice!

MTB – Hawes and Newby Head Loop in the Snow

Video of a ride I often do from Hawes to up above Burtersett towards Cam Head, up the High road and following the bridleway across the tops and down to Newby Head.

This time taken in the snow that covered the Fell tops overnight. Luckily it was crisp snow, so somehow I mananged to ride most of the loop without getting off or losing traction, quite suprised how good the WTB 2.3 Vigilantes are on my bike, superb grip in Continue reading

The Moon Eclipse

Apparently there has not been an eclipse of the moon on Winter solstice for 400 years, so this morning I dragged myself out of bed to take a few pictures. My camera seemed to object to the cold (-14C), so by the time I`d found a torch and set everything to manual I thought I`d missed it. Thankfully not, by the way thermal Long Johns are great.
