Snowy Ride above Hawes

A quick ride in the recent snow. I took a quick ride in the sun up above Hawes on the Cam High Road, with my Fat Bike. I was going to ride around the front of Yorburgh and descend into Burtersett, but the snow was just too deep and powdery. So I just descended back along the Cam High Road, which in inself was great fun.

Just a few more general photos taken whilst out Mountain Biking around Wensleydale and area at the end of February and into March. Quite a mixture of riding, snow and ice, claggy mud, sunshine and mist!

MTB – above Burtersett in the first Snow of the Year

First time the weather’s been good enough to enjoy a ride today, although the ride up the road above Burtersett to the Roman Road Bridleway way spent on the verges as the road was sheet ice for a quarter mile. Still brilliant to get out and away from the last several weeks wild winds and rain. Mind you it felt like -10 with the windchill on the top.

MTB – Buckden and Deepdale Loop

Took a long ride today as I thought this could be one of the last nice days of the year, turn out to be sunny in Wensleydale and the cold and misty on the tops and in Wharfedale, never mind! As they say theres no such thing as bad weather only the wrong type of clothing.

Distance: 30 milesGPX-50(1)
Time: Approx 3.5 hours.

MTB – Video Short XC Loop – Hawes/Roman Road/Burtersett

Video of a short route that I do from Hawes to Burtesett and up the Roman Road and back.

Distance: approx 9 miles
Time: Approx 1 hour.

Up through Burtersett to the Roman Road, climb up the bridleway and at the top second gate, take the signposted bridleway and ride back around the front of the fell before a great descent back down to Burtersett.

GoPro camera mounted on handlebars, hopefully get a different mount soon for some different perspective.
